At Social Work It – Allied Health, we provide therapeutic and capacity building supports designed to meet the unique needs of each client. Our approach is person-centred, trauma-informed, and recovery-oriented, ensuring care is compassionate, practical, and focused on long-term wellbeing.

The other woman is wearing a pink hoodie with curly hair, smiling. They are in a bright room with white walls and a window behind them.

Individual Therapeutic Support

We offer one-on-one counselling and therapeutic support (non-rebatable) tailored to your personal goals. Sessions provide a safe and supportive space to explore challenges, strengthen coping strategies, and build resilience. Our practice draws on a range of evidence based approaches, tailored to each person’s unique needs and circumstances helping you move forward with confidence. Each session is guided by empathy and collaboration, ensuring your voice and goals remain at the centre of the process.

Adjustment To Injury Counselling

Experiencing a sudden injury can impact more than just your physical health — it can also affect your emotional wellbeing, relationships, identity, and daily life. Adjustment to Injury Counselling provides space to process these changes, manage challenges, and develop strategies to adapt.

We work with:

  • Individuals adjusting to life after injury

  • Families and carers supporting loved ones through recovery

  • Professionals seeking guidance in supporting clients

Counselling may also assist with return-to-work planning, including managing expectations, workplace adjustments, and the emotional impact of re-entering employment.

Support is available for all types of injuries — not just through WorkCover or insurance providers. For more on WorkCover Queensland:

The Circle of Security Parenting (COSP) program is an internationally recognised, evidence-based framework that helps parents and caregivers strengthen their relationships with children.

Through guided reflection and practical strategies, COSP supports participants to:

  • Recognise and respond to children’s attachment needs

  • Build confidence in managing challenging behaviours

  • Foster secure, resilient relationships that last a lifetime

We offer COSP sessions for:

Individuals & Couples – Personalised support designed to meet the unique needs of your family. These sessions provide guidance in understanding your child’s emotional world, strengthening parent–child connections, and building confidence in responding to challenging behaviours.

Groups – A supportive and collaborative space to learn, share experiences, and connect with other parents and caregivers. Group sessions encourage reflection, mutual support, and the development of practical strategies that can be applied at home.

Professionals – Training and reflective practice opportunities for educators, health practitioners, and other professionals working with children and families. These sessions enhance understanding of attachment, improve responses to children’s emotional needs, and support stronger, more resilient relationships in practice.
